Let’s say that you are looking for a good entry-level espresso machine; then you should take a look at two of my favorites, the Gaggia Carezza Deluxe vs Classic Pro. After thoroughly researching the pros and cons of both machines, I’ll give you a quick answer the Gaggia Classic Pro stands out from the other left.
With the Classic Pro, this machine dominates thanks to its sturdy design, large capacity, commercial steam wand, and excellent espresso extraction.
Despite being the runner-up, Carezza Deluxe is still a very heavy competitor. This device really impressed me with its classic design, ease of use, and especially its ability to heat up quickly. If you are a newbie and looking for a machine that is both good and affordable, I highly recommend that you consider this machine.

Gaggia Carezza Deluxe vs Classic Pro: Differences
After weighing all the features, I found that the Classic Pro stands out for its design, capacity, brewing, and inclusion of a steam wand. The following are some analyses of the features that contributed to the Classic Pro‘s 2-0 win and 1-1 tie against the Carezza Deluxe.

Heating system
Talking about the heating system, both machines are equipped with a single boiler. Overall, their boilers do the same work, but I still found some differences between them.
First of all, in terms of materials, Carezza Deluxe’s boiler is made of stainless steel, and Classic Pro’s is made of polished aluminum. In general, each material has its own advantages and disadvantages. Stainless steel is stronger, more heat resistant, and more resistant to corrosion. Meanwhile, aluminum is lighter, conducts heat better, and conducts electricity better.
As for heating ability, the Deluxe has the upper hand. In fact, it can go from on to ready within a minute and raise the temperature to steam milk in about 30 seconds. In the meantime, with the Classic, it will take you a bit more time. The machine is ready to brew in five minutes and steam ready in 30 seconds.
Brewing technique
I would say that both the Carezza Deluxe and the Classic Pro produce coffee with amazing flavor. With the Classic, the espresso tastes rich and has a delightful crema, and even I use some coffee beans from the supermarket near home. With the Deluxe, you’ll also get a hot, flavorful espresso with a nice crema.
From my experience, the coffee flavor did not differ much between the two machines, so let’s examine the differences in brewing techniques.
If you can own a Classic Pro, you will find that the machine operates very quietly and smoothly. This is thanks to two features, an improved pump mount, and a 3-way solenoid valve. The pump absorbs all the vibrations that the device generates during the brewing process, hence limiting noise and vibration. Besides, at the end of the brewing process, the 3-way solenoid valve opens to drain excess water from the portafilter so that the left coffee grounds are dry and easier to clean.
Talking about Carezza Deluxe, this machine is not equipped with a 3-way solenoid valve, but in return, it has a wonderful non-pressurized filter basket with hundreds of tiny holes. Depending on your preference, you can use grind size and tamping to increase extraction or decrease extraction. There aren’t many machines on the market that can do such a thing.
milk system
The winner: Gaggia Classic Pro
For those who enjoy drinks with a bit more milk, like cappuccinos and lattes, these Gaggia machines can satisfy those tastes with a classic milk frother built into the machine.
With Carezza Deluxe, this machine provides you with a Pannarello steam wand, which allows you to create an even and smooth milk foam for pouring latte art without a professional barista’s skills.
Compared to its opponent, Classic Pro has a commercial steam wand with a slimmer and thinner shape. This type of wand gives you full control while steaming and frothing milk and is capable of producing a lot of microfoam (something a traditional steam wand cannot do). However, if you are inexperienced, it will take a little bit of time to learn how to use this steam wand. Once you get used to it, you’ll get the most out of its foaming ability for your milk.
design
The winner: Gaggia Classic Pro
The stainless steel case design of the Gaggia Classic Pro really impressed me. It gives users a sense of sustainability and certainty. However, this is also the reason why this machine is heavier than its opponent. In contrast, the Gaggia Carezza Deluxe is somewhat lighter thanks to the majority of the plastic cover, along with some other stainless steel details.
Another advantage I found in the Classic Pro is the large 72 oz water tank; in the Deluxe, it’s only 47 oz. With nearly half the capacity of the competition, you will have to change the water less often, and this is clearly a convenience.

- Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted
