Jura E6 vs Philips 3200 is a tricky debate because of the huge price gap between them. And after considering the value and price aspect, alongside the real espresso extraction of these models, Jura E6 still dominates the debate and proves to be a worthy winner.
Jura E6 is a well-made modern espresso machine with a super-automatic function. It can froth creamy or dry milk foam for various recipes, from flat white to cappuccino. Its biggest asset is its robust and flavorful espresso. I also enjoy its various cleaning cycles. If you are ready to invest in a good mid-range espresso maker, I recommend this one, among other lines like Philips 3200 LatteGo or Breville Barista Touch.
Compared to Jura E6, Philips 3200 is significantly less expensive and boasts consistently excellent espresso extraction with a balanced flavor. However, its milk texture can’t get as foamy as what I can get with Jura E6, so making latte macchiato or cappuccino isn’t easy with this model. Also, this machine doesn’t have as diverse of a one-touch system as Jura E6.

Jura E6 vs Philips 3200: Differences
Jura E6 wins 3-2 against Philips 3200 thanks to its overall more powerful brewing system and capable steam wand. You can get very bold coffee and fluffy microfoam with this device. But, of course, Philips 3200 has its strengths as well.
Espresso flavor
Winner: Jura E6
The Jura E6 brings the trophy back home with its exceptional espresso brewing technology. The Jura E6 produces outstanding espresso results for a range of espresso beans. Regardless of the type of espresso beans you use, it makes a fantastic shot of espresso with a thick coating of crema on top.
As for Philips 3200, this machine also doesn’t miss the chance to deliver delicious espresso either. I enjoy the sweet note that this model is able to bring out the most. However, some say this machine isn’t exactly gifted at making strong espresso. So if you prefer softer and smoother coffee, I think you will appreciate the taste more.
Possibility of customizing the espresso
Tie
It’s possible to customize the coffee strength and length with Philips 3200 and Jura E6. In addition, the options allow users to adjust the espresso flavor precisely according to their preferences. Personally, I would never choose a machine that limits my option at customizing the drinks unless they are very cut-price machines that introduce users to their first home-barista experience.
Grinder‘s performance
Winner: Philips 3200
The Philips 3200 and Jura E6 come with ceramic burr grinders, among the finest available in espresso makers. However, each model’s performance is unique despite having roughly the same sort of grinder.
The grinder for the Philips 3200 has 12 distinct settings to provide different ground results. The coffee grind in the used pucks I receive is quite uniform and smooth. When I want a milder cup of espresso, I normally set the grinder to 6, and when I want a stronger beverage, I adjust it to 8 or 9. Since the ground will be too fine, turning the grinder higher won’t help.
Regarding Jura E6, its performance is quite reliable, and I’m happy with the quality of the finished coffee ground. However, this machine’s grinder only has six settings. As a result, fewer options are available for the texture of the coffee grounds, giving you less control over flavor. However, this machine is a fantastic option if you prefer a less complex design.
Milk System
Winner: Jura E6
The Jura E6 does offer an intriguing milk frothing technology, and as it is automated, there is nothing you need to do to use it. It froths the milk for various varieties of coffee in a manner similar to an automated steam wand. You may choose your desired coffee using the TFT screen or the app. The milk texture level of your choice is also an option.
Jura E6 can froth very fluffy and airy milk foam. This is the machine’s golden goose and why I decided it should be the winner. Philips 3200 can froth creamy foam, but its pressure is potent enough to make the foam as dry and airy as Jura E6 can.
One-touch beverages
Tie
Jura E6 shares various one-touch beverages with Philips 3200.
- Jura E6: Espresso, coffee, cappuccino, a portion of milk, and hot water
- Philips 3200: Espresso, espresso lungo, coffee, Americano, and hot water
So with Jura E6, making a milk-based cup is possible without manually handling the steam wand. As for Philips 3200, it will satisfy users with a taste palette for Americano.
Jura E6 vs Philips 3200: Similarities
Jura E6 and Philips 3200 share a similar water reservoir capacity and an auto-purge system that keeps the brew circuit clean. I will further explain below!
Water tank size
61 oz and 63 oz are the water tank capacities of Philips 3200 and Jura E6, respectively. With this standard tank size, 2-3 users max can enjoy daily espresso without having to refill the tank too frequently.
As for the tank’s position, Philips 3200 boasts a more convenient one. I can easily remove it by pulling it from the front of the machine, even though it’s located on the side. As for Jura E6, the tank is also on the side of the machine, but it needs to be pulled out from above. Of course, the tank is covered with a removable lid, so users can refill it without pulling the reservoir out.
However, it’s still obligatory to detach it from its place whenever we clean/ descale the machine.
Auto-rinse of the brewing circuit
Jura E6 and Philips 3200 boast automatic purging of the brewing system whenever they are turned on or off. This ensures the brewing circuit is free from residue and old coffee smells. In the long run, the quality of the devices and the beverages are well-preserved.
