Here, I’ll talk about the differences and similarities between Jura E8 vs X8, as well as their pros and cons. In light of the features and technical characteristics, I believe that the Jura X8 deserves to be the winner.
As a winner, the Jura X8 has a bigger water tank and coffee hopper. Furthermore, because it uses a dual heating system, the brewing time is reduced while maintaining a consistent level of quality. The most impressive feature is that it can make two milk-based espresso beverages at the same time. The Jura X8 is built for a large family or office use.
Having said that, the Jura E8, a runner-up, is still worth buying if you want a coffee machine for daily use at home. It also has an excellent multi-level Aroma G3 Conical Burr Grinder and a lot of other high-tech features from Jura. 17 coffee presets are enough for many coffee drinkers.

Jura E8 vs X8: Differences
The Jura X8 wins 3–2 against the Jura E8 since it has more preset coffee drinks, more extra features, and two boilers to make your brewing process as easy and fast as possible.
1. Espresso Flavor
The Winner: Jura X8
+Coffee Grinder
The Jura X8 and the Jura E8 are equipped with a multi-level Aroma G3 Conical Burr Grinder for grinding. It has ideal cutting angles, which contribute to the extraction of the highest possible quality of aroma and flavor. This cutting-edge grinder is two times as fast and effective as its predecessors. It is also very quiet.
It is also very quiet. Adjusting the grinder settings will allow you to change how finely the coffee beans are ground. If you want good results, don’t forget to use the perfect type of coffee beans.
When it comes to grinding, the two machines are fairly similar.
+ By-pass doser for preground coffee
Also, I’d like to mention that the Jura X8 coffee grinder does not have a bypass doser. Although, the Jura E8 does. This makes the Jura E8 the best because it can use both whole coffee beans and pre-ground coffee. This is a great feature to have if you want to try a different pre-ground espresso or make a decaf variety of espresso.
However, for a professional coffee drinker, or someone like me, this feature is not as vital for Jura X8 to be regarded. Because, as you are probably aware, the flavor of the coffee will be more robust if we grind it immediately before we brew it.
+ Heating system
The Jura X8 has two boilers. In most cases, the temperature of the water used to steam milk needs to be higher than that used to brew coffee. Dual boiler machines heat water to two different temperatures simultaneously. Compared to single-boiler machines like the Jura E8, which need to wait in between the steaming and brewing processes, dual-boiler machines are noticeably quicker.
+ Programmability
Adjustable coffee strengths are available on both the Jura E8 and X8, but these features are a little bit different. “Adjustable strength settings” mean you can adjust your espresso strength. By default, changing the coffee’s strength does not affect the brewing process.
There are 10 different brew strength settings on the Jura X8, and they all work with all of its specialty coffees. There are just 8 strength settings available on the Jura E8.
Both the Jura E8 and the Jura X8 include 2 different temperature settings for brewing espresso, giving you the ability to tailor the beverage’s temperature to your preferences. You can choose from a range of hot drinks, from tea to hot chocolate to long black coffee, thanks to the programmability of the 3 heat settings on both of them.
2. Milk System
The Winner: Jura E8
There is an automatic frothing system integrated into both of these machines. However, the Jura E8 has a Fine Foam G2 frother, while the Jura X8 only has an ordinary automated frother.
The frothing system of the Jura E8 is quick, adjustable, and consistent. The Jura E8 model is ideal for microfoam devotees since a dial on the milk nozzle allows you to fine-tune the texture of your milk froth. The Jura X8 is also excellent. However, it lacks fine-tune features. The Jura X8 adjusts the milk in each coffee drink automatically.
3. Cleaning & Maintenance
The Winner: It’s a Tie!
Jura E8 and Jura X8 are both easy to maintain and clean. These coffee machines are equipped with integrated cleaning routines made by Jura. A rinse cycle is set automatically when you switch the machine on or off. Cleaning tablets manufactured by Jura are included with the coffee machines and should be used after brewing 200 cups of coffee.
Additionally, both machines have brew groups that are not removable, meaning that leftovers can accumulate and affect the espresso flavor. Even though fixed brew groups aren’t the best option, Jura’s automatic rinse cleans off any residual coffee ground particles.
One further thing that each of these has in common is something called the Intelligent Water System. This system cleans the water using RFID technology and a Claris Smart filter. It’s impressive that so long as you use Jura filters, you won’t have to worry about descaling.
4. Utilities
The Winner: Jura X8
+Coffee Drinks
Comparing the Jura E8 and the Jura X8, the latter model has 4 additional coffee drink options. As can be seen, the drinks Café Latte, Ristretto, Special coffee, and Pot of coffee are not available on the Jura E8, but they are available on the Jura X8. The other difference is the portion of espresso drinks and milk drinks.
This also shows that the Jura X8 was designed to cater to the requirements of multiple users at the same time. While the Jura E8 is intended for use in daily home brewing, the Jura X8 is more suited to social gatherings.
+ 2-cup function
The Jura X8 is one of the few machines that can produce two milk-based drinks with at the same time. The majority of coffee machines are only able to produce two cups of milk-free coffee at a time.
For the Jura E8, both milk froth and coffee come out of the milk outlet and an additional spout. As usual, only coffee specialties without milk are poured out from the central outlet. Because it has two spouts, this machine enables you to brew two cups of milk-free drinks simultaneously. The Jura E8 cannot simultaneously produce two milk-based specialties.
+Capacity
The water tank on the Jura X8 is very large. Imagine a machine that can hold 170 ounces. Can you imagine it? This means that you can make up to 35 cups of coffee before the water runs out!
The Jura E8 has a water tank that holds 64 ounces and a bean hopper that can hold 280 grams. Its container can hold up to 16 pucks of used coffee grounds. The Jura X8, on the other hand, has a water tank that holds 167.3 ounces and a bean hopper that can hold 500 grams.
I think that the Jura E8 is better for home use. And the Jura X8 is most useful in offices or other places where more than five people make espresso every day. Your time and effort spent maintaining, cleaning, and refilling will be reduced if it has a higher capacity.
+Height-adjustable coffee spout
The Jura X8’s spout may be set to a taller height to accommodate a coffee pot. On the Jura E8, the height of the spout may be adjusted anywhere from 2.5 to 4.3 inches. And with the Jura X8, you can adjust the coffee spout up to 6 inches.
Because of this additional space for movement, you are able to slip in the coffee spout that brews coffee of espresso quality in under three minutes.
+ Interface
Regarding attractiveness, the TFT display of Jura X8 is bright and easy to use. However it is not a touchscreen. Instead, you must use the buttons on either side of the display to navigate. It’s not a deal-breaker, but touchscreen functionality would feel much more luxurious.
In contrast, Jura E8 includes a touchscreen display. Not only does the high-resolution TFT color display on the Jura E8 coffee maker contribute to the already elegant design of the machine, but it also makes operating the machine an absolute pleasure.
Jura E8 vs X8: Similarities
+ Jura Technology
Both of them take advantage of Jura’s Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P. ), which helps to make the coffee-extracting process as efficient as possible and provides an unrivaled flavor for your palate.
Every single espresso drink will have a strong flavor, a rich aroma, and be full-bodied thanks to the high-performance 15 bar pump. And the Thermoblock heating system ensures that espresso extraction will always take place at the ideal temperature, regardless of how many cups of coffee you consume in a single day. Both of these espresso makers are equipped with this technology.
+ Smart Connect App
I absolutely adore having the ability to have a cup of coffee without leaving my desk. It saves me time and makes me more productive. I greatly prefer this over hanging around the coffee maker for a while.
Because of this, being compatible with the J.O.E. app is a feature that is quite helpful. This contains literally everything, from settings for coffee and milk to signs for when the machine needs to be cleaned. Thankfully, the Jura E8 and X8 are equipped with the aforementioned cutting-edge technology.
For Jura E8, however, the Smart Connect transmitter is sold separately and must be purchased if you want to use the J.O.E. app.
