You may find choosing the winner between Jura ENA 8 vs S8 very difficult. I am here to assist you in selecting the most suitable machine for your needs. Given a choice, I would pick the Jura S8 as the winner.
The Jura S8 is more suitable for serving large batches with more preset drinks and the ability to brew 2 cups simultaneously. The more expensive model gives you greater control over the milk’s texture, and a more modern, intuitive touchscreen. It can also save your customized drinks, which the ENA 8 cannot do.
The Jura ENA 8 is my runner-up pick and is ideal for professional home baristas with small batches. The Jura ENA 8 is considered more of an entry-level model. Even coffee purists like the Jura ENA 8’s PEP brewing technology and the quiet and smooth Aroma G3 grinder. It is a more budget-friendly choice than the Jura S8 when you still want a cup of coffee with a thick layer of crema.
Check out the information table below to learn more about the two machines.

Jura ENA 8 vs S8: Differences
The Jura S8 gets more points (4-1) than the ENA 8 as it can brew 2 cups of coffee simultaneously, has a touchscreen display, and has a faster, more efficient automatic frother. The Jura ENA 8 is a smart and well-designed machine that is great for a family with no more than three members.
1. Dose Control
The Winner: Jura S8
Pre-Programmed Coffee Drinks
The most significant difference between the Jura Ena 8 and the S8 is the number of specializations available in each version. When I compare the two machines’ lists of specialities, I find that they can make the same types of beverages and have identical settings.
The difference here is Jura S8 has more drink presets. The single-spout design of the Jura Ena 8 contributes to the product’s lower number of specialties compared to its competitor.
Jura S8 can brew espresso, coffee, ristretto, cappuccino, doppio, macchiato, and latte macchiato. The Ena 8 does as well! With Jura S8, you can brew both a single and double shot of these beverages. But with Jura ENA 8, you can only brew a single shot.
Dosage
The Jura ENA 8, which is a single-serve coffee machine, has a dosage range of between 6 and 10 grams of coffee powder that is ground in each espresso shot. For the Jura S8, the dosage is from 5 to 16g of ground coffee powder.
Because the Jura S8 has the potential to brew two cups of espresso at the same time, it has a higher dosage, which results in a shot of espresso that is both more robust and more aromatic. This is beneficial for people who are strict purists about their coffee and people who like to entertain guests because it can produce two espresso beverages from a single brewing cycle.
Heating system
There is just one thermoblock in both machines’ heating systems. You shouldn’t expect either of them to brew a cup of coffee as quickly as machines with two boilers. But when I put these two sides by side, I notice that the Jura S8 can brew coffee more quickly than the ENA 8.
The ENA 8 can only brew up to 4 cups of coffee in 10 minutes, but its counterpart can brew up to 9 cups in the same amount of time.
2. Milk System
The Winner: Jura S8
The Fine Foam Frother G2 that comes included with the Jura S8 is an upgraded version compared to the basic Fine Foam and Cappuccino Frother that comes with the ENA 8. So we can control the milk texture on the S8. By rotating a little dial, we can switch between frothed and steamed milk whenever we want. It also has an automatic milk rinse that can be activated with one touch.
Some people might not care about being able to switch between frothed and steamed milk, but I find this feature very important and useful. I do prefer a latte cup that not only has streamed milk but also is topped with foamed milk. On my Jura S8, I just rotate the dial to get this.
The Fine Foam technique on the ENA 8 creates milk foam automatically for drinks like cappuccinos, flat whites, and latte macchiato. We are unable to customize the milk foam. Additionally, the automatic milk rinse system is not included in this model.
3. Cleaning & Maintenance
The Winner: It’s a Tie
Size
The dimensions of the Jura ENA 8 are 10.7 by 17.5 by 12.7 inches, and the dimensions of the Jura S8 are 11 by 17.3 by 13.8 inches. Both espresso machines have the same depth, but the Jura S8 is taller and wider than the ENA 8.
This is because the S8 has a 1.8L water tank, a 10-oz bean hopper, and a ground container that can hold up to 16 pucks.
I am really impressed with the design of the ENA 8’s water tank. But I must be honest and say that the water tank and the bean hopper are very small. Given that it features a reservoir that can hold 1 L of water and a hopper that can hold 4.4 oz of beans, the Jura ENA 8 is an espresso machine that is practical, compatible, and ideal for daily use. In addition to this, it has the capacity to store up to 10 coffee pucks in its ground container.
If you find a coffee machine for serving larger batches, you should definitely choose the Jura S8. On the other hand, if you find a machine for daily home use, you can choose both.
4. Utilities
The Winner: Jura S8
Cup Height Adjustment
The cup clearance of the Jura ENA 8 ranges from a minimum of 2.2 to a maximum of 5.4 inches. This allows taller mugs or glasses to fit under the spout. You can make coffee in the mug of your choice or even in a travel mug if you’re in a hurry.
The Jura S8 has a cup clearance somewhat narrower than the ENA 8, but it is wider since it offers space for two espresso cups to be placed side by side. It ranges in height from 2.8 inches to 4.6 inches.
In fact, the cup clearances of these two machines do not cause me any discomfort.
Interface
The control panels of the Jura ENA 8 and S8 are where you’ll see the most significant distinction between the two models. The ease with which you can use a coffee machine’s features is a major factor in determining its level of sophistication. And the Jura S8 definitely looks more advanced than the ENA 8.
The Jura S8’s control panel is a large touch screen, which is much easier to access. The ENA 8 has buttons and a 2.8-inch TFT color screen, and each screen swipe will only display two different drink options. In contrast, at least 8 different drinks are displayed on the screen of the S8. There are no buttons on the S8, making it more sleek and modern than the ENA 8.
Save Your Customized Drinks
Customers can benefit from the S8’s ability to store their own recipes. In other words, in addition to its standard 15 specialties, you can save some additional presets. When you customize the coffee drink to suit your taste, you can save these settings so that you may quickly use them later.
Imagine in your family, each person frequently asks for different kinds of drinks, and you’re using this machine. It will definitely help you satisfy all the members and save both time and money.
Jura ENA 8 vs S8: Similarities
+ Brewing Coffee
Jura S8 and ENA 8 feature Aroma G3 grinder, 15 bar pump, pulse brewing system, and Thermoblock that improve espresso flavor. The Jura ENA 8 and the Jura S8 have these features, and they work well together to make a wide range of espresso.
In terms of grinding, we should mention that they also feature a bypass doser for ground coffee that can be used if you run out of coffee beans or you want a decaf drink.
+ Coffee Programmability
You can customize your espresso’s coffee volume, strength, and brewing temperature on Jura ENA 8 and S8. You can manipulate it directly on the screen or via the Jura app.
+ Energy Efficiency
I really appreciate the low-energy mode, automatic shut-off, and cleaning alerts on both machines. Furthermore, they have numerous rinsing and cleaning modes that eliminate the need for frequent descale. Also, they make sure that you won’t have to spend too much time trying to unclog the machine’s internal components, particularly the brew unit.
