If you’re wondering which is superior between the Jura J6 vs E6, look no further. The Jura J6 comes out on top for me after analyzing the various features they have.
The Jura J6 is the ultimate winner in this battle. Everyone will be satisfied with the 13 preset coffee drinks and high levels of programmability that can suit their individual tastes. The advanced milk system can control milk foam texture. All of these will bring you an indelible brewing and frothing experience. This machine is also suitable for decaf drinkers because it has a bypass doser for pre-ground coffee.
The Jura E6 doesn’t have as many features as the J6, but it still has the same high level of brewing technology. Because of this, it is an appealing alternative for drinkers who are willing to give up some degree of customization to have an outstanding quality espresso.

Jura J6 vs E6: Differences
Jura J6 wins 3-1 against Jura E6. It has more specialty coffees, more levels of programmability, a more advanced milk system, and a bypass doser for pre-ground coffee.
1. Dose Control
The Winner: Jura J6
Programmability
The Jura J6 is better than the E6 regarding programmable functions. It has more levels of programmability than the Jura E6. Even though the gap isn’t too big, it has a significant benefit.
The E6 allows you to choose from 8 different coffee strength levels, 2 different brewing temperature levels, and 3 different hot water temperature levels. On the J6, you can adjust coffee strength in 10 levels, the brewing temperature, and the hot water temperature in 3 levels.
To get the perfect cup of coffee every time, I need a machine that gives me control over the beverage’s strength, temperature, and volume. And if you’re finicky about your espresso like I am, it’s much easier to achieve the results you want when more programmability levels are available. That’s why Jura J6 gets my vote in this round.
2. Milk System
The Winner: Jura J6
The Jura J6 has an adjustable froth setting. However, the Jura E6 does not offer this feature. The Fine Foam Frother found on both the J6 and the E6 is an excellent choice for frothing smooth milk foam. However, you cannot change the texture of the milk froth on the E6 to make it more or less thick. Thankfully, the Jura J6 has this capability.
On the Jura J6, if you want more or less foam milk, you turn the knob on the milk spout.
3. Cleaning & Maintenance
The Winner: Jura E6
The Jura E6 has a self-cleaning feature both before and after brewing, a cup height adjustment spout that is taller, and a visible water level. This makes it easier to clean.
Even though it has sturdy and high-quality parts, the Jura J6 offers only a few impressive features in terms of cleaning and maintenance. Features like a low-energy mode, automatic shut-off, integrated cleaning cycles, a calcium-cleaning function, and a water filter for the reservoir.
For the Jura E6, ensuring that the machine is always clean and ready for a brew, preventing any particles from becoming lodged in the water tank, and ensuring that the brew unit, drip tray, and spouts are easy.
In general, the Jura E6 is an easier espresso machine to clean and maintain because it is more sturdy and reliable
3. Utilities
The Winner: Jura J6
Specialty Coffees
The Jura J6 has more preset coffee drinks than the E6. There are 13 drinks to choose from. The E6, on the other hand, has only 7.
But you should know that the E6’s 7 presets are not 7 distinct drinks. There are only 3 distinctive drinks. They are coffee, cappuccino, and espresso. The rest are double shots of these three drinks, a portion of milk foam, and hot water. To sum up, the E6 serves only basic espresso drinks and one milk-based drink.
You can see that the E6 has a built-in milk system, but it can only make the cappuccino. With the Jura J6, you can make more coffee-based drinks. So, the Jura J8 is better if you like drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites.
Pre-Ground Coffee
If you want to experiment with different flavors or decaf coffee, the Jura J6 should be your choice because it has a bypass doser for using pre-ground coffee. However, you will not find this feature on the Jura E6.
Jura J6 vs E6: Similarities
Let’s start with the basic but important features. This category includes the qualities that affect espresso’s flavor, texture, and aroma. Thus, it’s important to pay attention to it. And both the Jura J6 and the E6 offer all of these features.
They both have the Pulse Extraction Process, Thermoblock heating system, 15 bar pump system, and the Aroma G3 grinder.
Both machines take advantage of Jura’s exceptional water filtration and cleaning technology. This lowers the maintenance cost and ensures that the operation will work well and cost less to run for a very long time.
