Would you like to make up to 80 cups of professional-grade coffee daily for your restaurant or office? Looking to invest in a top-notch, technologically advanced, fully automatic coffee machine? In that case, the X6 and X8 models should definitely be on your radar. But, to choose the better machine in the Jura X8 vs X6 debate, I should go for the X8.
The Jura X8 is my top pick because of its unique ability to produce milk-based drinks thanks to its built-in milk system. Because of this, it has a wider selection of preset beverages than the X6 does. It is one of only a few machines that can produce two milk-based drinks simultaneously. When you use the Jura X8, it’s almost like bringing a real cafe into your own home or workplace.
The Jura X6, a runner-up, is also worth buying if you want a coffee machine for preparing black coffee specialties. It includes many cutting-edge features like the X8, such as the Pulse extraction process, compatibility with the JOE app, Professional Aroma Grinder, etc. Its 12 different drinks are ideal for classic coffee, espresso drinkers.

Jura E8 vs X8: Differences
The Jura X8 wins 3–0 against the Jura X6 since it has more preset coffee drinks, two boilers, and a built-in milk system that is lacking in the X6.
Heating System
The Winner: Jura X8
This match is an easy win for Jura X8, which has two Thermoblocks. Thanks to this heating system, the Jura X8 heats up quite quickly. And two boilers mean it heats the water for brewing coffee and steaming milk separately.
As a result, there’s almost no delay between brewing espresso and the milk steaming/frothing process. No waiting time, no temperature loss. Your drink will be served at the perfect temperature.
I’ve used this model for years now, and it’s always produced delicious and piping-hot beverages. My beverage always gets to my desired temperature, allowing me to savor it throughout my morning work leisurely.
In contrast, there is only one Thermoblock in the Jura X6. Similar to X8, it also heats up really quickly. However, this espresso machine does not always have very good temperature control. The coffee that I get is always not hot but rather warm, and the temperature is lower than 180 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you want to have a delicious cup of coffee ready to drink right away, the Jura X6 is still a wonderful option to consider. On the other hand, X8 is a good choice if you like your coffee hot and want it to stay hot for longer.
Milk System
The Winner: Jura X8
The notable enhancement in the Jura X8 in comparison to the Jura X6 is the incorporation of a milk system. However, this is far from a minor inclusion – the Jura X8 boasts the finest milk system (from my perspective) available. Therefore, as an organization, do you want to provide milk-based drinks to either your staff members or your customers? If this is the case, the JURA X8 is ideal.
Two Milk Drinks Cups
We’re all well-acquainted with Jura’s capability to brew two cups of coffee. But have you ever pondered the possibility of crafting two milk-based drinks at the same time? This remarkable capability is a distinct feature found in the Jura X8.
Whether you’re aiming to impress clients, pamper your staff, or enjoy quality time with friends, the Jura X8 has you covered. It’s not about making one cup at a time – now, you can swiftly prepare two cups of barista-quality espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte, and more.
Milk Texture
This milk system offers both kinds of milk and will automatically switch from hot milk to milk foam or a combination of both kinds, depending on the drink you are preparing.
So, within a single beverage, you can seamlessly blend both hot milk and milk foam. This is a feature that you’ll rarely come across in rival machines. Now, you can enjoy this milk combination in lattes, flat whites, and macchiatos. Or just one kind of milk like on the cappuccino that only uses frothed milk.
Milk Programming
For both milk and milk foam, you have the flexibility to adjust the amount by choosing dispensing time and selecting from ten different levels of temperature. I have rarely seen any machines that offer such extensive temperature control. Everyone will have no trouble finding the best milk/milk foam temperature to their liking.
Moreover, have you ever gazed in awe at the exquisite layered artistry of a Macchiato crafted by skilled baristas at a café? Now you can completely replicate that very same layered effect in the Jura X8 thanks to its programmable delay interval between milk types.
Coffee Drinks
The Winner: Jura X8

The Jura X6 presents a selection of 12 beverages (count both single, double shots and hot water). Did you notice that all of these beverages are espresso-based? As mentioned above, Jura X6 lacks a built-in milk system, which consequently means that there are no preset milk-based drinks available in this machine.
If you’re the sort who sticks to the basics and never ventures beyond espresso, ristretto, coffee, or special coffee, you can choose either the Jura X8 or Jura X6. However, the Jura X8 takes it a step further with additional coffee-milk specialties like cappuccino, caffè latte, latte macchiato, and flat white. This brings its total beverage count to an impressive 21, catering to all your desires.
Programming
Irrespective of the quantity of pre-programmed specialties provided by the Jura X8 and X6, they share a common feature: the ability to customize the drink parameters to match your preferences. You can adjust coffee strength across 10 levels, select from 2 brewing temperature levels, and choose between 3 hot water temperature settings.
Jura X8 vs X6: Similarities
Coffee Flavor & Brewing Technology
When it comes to coffee flavor and brewing technology, the two machines show notable similarities.
To start, both of them initiate a short pre-infusion process. This involves introducing water at low pressure to fully soak the coffee puck, unlocking the full aroma potential. Following this, they employ the Pulse Extraction Process (P.E.P.), which involves the hot water being pushed through the coffee grounds in brief intervals. This meticulous process ensures the coffee’s flavors are fully extracted and developed.
They aren’t just marketing gimmicks. The end result is truly comparable to the flavor I’d typically get from coffee brewed in commercial semi-automatic machines or at professional coffee shops.
Design & Usability
Dimensions, Weight & Appearance
Jura X8 | Jura X6 | |
---|---|---|
Dimensions (W × H × D) | 37.3 × 47 × 46.1 cm | 37.3 × 47 × 46.1 cm |
Weight | 14 kg | 12.9 kg |
When it comes to their looks, these two machines appear remarkably alike. At first glance, I could hardly tell them apart if it weren’t for their colors. The Jura X8 is coated with sleek Black and Silver colors which are basic and fit any kitchen. Meanwhile, the X6 showcases a distinct Black and Inox color combo, evoking a strong and manly vibe.
These machines have a large footprint. And because they build a large drip tray to prevent potential leaks, their height exceeds the standard of many other models. So, you have to ensure that the distance between your kitchen countertop and cupboard is a minimum of 22 inches.
Also, they are heavy, I think you won’t want to carry the machines to different spots very often.
Capacity
Jura X8 | Jura X6 | |
---|---|---|
Water tank capacity | 5l | 5l |
Bean container holding capacity | 500g | 500g |
Coffee grounds container | 40 servings | 40 servings |
Both machines boast an impressive and substantial capacity. The water tank holds 5 liters, and the bean container with aroma protection cover has space for 500 grams of beans; this container can be expanded to a capacity of 1000 grams with an attachment.
Typically, these models are highly recommended for medium-sized organizations as they can produce around 80 cups of coffee daily.
Spout
Both models come with a dual coffee spout that enables the simultaneous preparation of two cups. The spout is adjustable in height, ranging from 65 to 153 mm. At the maximum cup height, it’s possible to accommodate a travel mug comfortably.
Utilities
User Interface
Their user interface is also the same. There is one TFT color display that is designed to be extremely user-friendly. Even new employees will quickly become familiar with controlling these fully automatic coffee machines.
Furthermore, there are 6 large, front-operated direct selection buttons and two navigation buttons for perfect coffee enjoyment at the touch of a button.
Compatible With App
The compatibility with the app significantly enhances the convenience of operating these machines.
Through the app, you can easily tailor the preset drinks to your preferred taste and cup sizes. You can adjust all drink parameters just like adjusting directly on the machine but in a more intuitive way.
Moreover, you can create your own new drinks, fine-tune their parameters, and even give them custom names. Beyond this, the app offers a range of other features for added functionality and control.
