Which machine will walk away with the crown in the battle of Nespresso Creatista vs Breville Bambino? I have the right answer for you! Despite the major difference in these machines’ type grades, Nespresso Creatista has proven to be superior in some interesting brewing aspects.
Both espresso makers produce great, flavorful shots of espresso, but the Nespresso Creatista has a wider range of customizing options than the Breville Bambino, especially regarding milk frothing. It can deliver microfoam to perfection. And its digital display allows me to select the beverage type to enjoy a 100% hands-free operation. This is the one for you if you want a compact and hassle-free Nespresso machine.
For espresso aficionados who want a compact model on their kitchen counter, the Breville Bambino is a solid option. It brews bold and full-bodied espresso with good crema that will accompany any recipe well. However, it requires manual intervention in milk frothing to get the milk to the right texture, and there is no control over its temperature either.

Nespresso Creatista vs Breville Bambino: Differences
Nespresso Creatista wins 3-0 against Breville Bambino, and they tie twice in the espresso flavor and cleaning process. I find Nespresso Creatista to be more convenient since it offers an almost 100% hands-free brewing experience, and its espresso flavor is no joke, either. Check out the good and the bad of each machine.
Espresso flavor
Tie
Nespresso Creatista and Breville Bambino never fail to make delicious espresso cups with bold flavor and rich aroma. I can taste all notes of flavor that are a must for espresso and coffee. My drinks from them always taste nuanced, nutty, smooth, and rich. They even have a tinge of chocolate to them. So if you want quality espressos, I highly recommend both Creatista and Bambino.
Despite having similar flavor performance, each product is designed with different pump pressure levels. While Creatista works with 19 pumps, Bambino uses a 9-bar system. In the long run, the 19 bars will be much more pleasant to work with. Espresso and Nespresso machines can lose pressure potency when working for a long time. And if Bambino loses its touch, the bars will drop under 9 bars, which will surely result in weaker espresso.
Nevertheless, by far, I haven´t noticed lack of potency from Breville Bambino.
Regarding the espresso’s temperature, I don’t notice any difference either. They both can brew hot drinks for a good home coffee experience. But Bambino boasts PID temperature control technology that is designed to maintain the water temperature high with better consistency. Again, there is no difference that I have noticed so far, but in the long run, the PID technology will surely become handy.
One-Touch Buttons
Winner: Nespresso Creatista
The Nespresso Creatista has more elaborate and, most crucially, adaptable modifications than the Bambino. While it offers a good list of options, including ristretto, espresso, lungo, caffe latte, cappuccino, and latte macchiato, Bambino only includes 4 one-touch buttons for a single, double espresso, steam, and hot water.
So, without a doubt, the Nespresso Creatista is much more diverse in the one-touch aspect. I have tested the drinks, and they taste amazingly balanced and nuanced. Although designed with a steam wand, Creatista still offers quite an authentic one-touch experience. All I have to do is place the milk jug underneath the frother, and it will handle the rest. Besides, given how fixed the steam wand looks, manual frothing is not an option either.
Programmibility
Winner: Nespresso Creatista
To manually adjust the shot volume on Breville Bambino, press and hold the single or double-shot espresso buttons for 3s. Then release it when the light blinks differently. The device will start dispensing espresso. You can stop the process by pressing the same button that you picked to program. Bambino will remember the dosing for future brewing with that button. Beyond that, I don’t notice Bambino with any other adjustable feature regarding espresso quality.
With the Nespresso Creatista, this is not the case. You can choose several beverages and sizes: 0.84, 1.35, and 3.72 oz. It’s possible to adjust this as well.
Also, it allows users to adjust the milk temperature and texture on the digital display for future brews. For coffee lovers who want more automated and personalized beverages at home, the Creatista is a preferable option thanks to its many programmable features.
What is my take on this? I prefer Nespresso Creatista because it’s highly automatic while still not taking away the possibility of controlling the outcome of the drinks for users.
Milk frother’s performance
Winner: Nespresso Creatista
There are 2 things that I want to comment on regarding the milk frothers’ performances.
Firstly, about the milk texture, I’m highly satisfied with what both machines have to offer. For their price range, it’s hard to encounter truly efficient models to make decent-quality microfoam. But it’s possible this pair. I have been able to make very creamy foam with a slightly airy texture. It’s not 100% microfoam quality, but it’s very close. I can even do latte art with the milk, so you know the consistency of the foam is up to standard.
Secondly, there is a difference in the frothing process. While Creatista’s system allows a 100% hands-free experience, I have to manually maneuver the milk pitcher to get the right milk texture I want with Bambino. Despite the similarity in foam quality, I believe the level of automation should concern users with a requirement for a hassle-free experience.
Automatic Cleaning
Tie
Automatic cleaning can significantly speed up your work. And luckily, I get to experience this with both Creatista and Bambino.
An auto-purge steam wand with a quicker automated cleaning procedure is what I’m looking for in all espresso makers. Bambino and Creatista understand this and cleanse themselves a few seconds after reaching time I finish steaming milk for a milk-based recipe. After each use, I only need to wipe the steam wand and drip tray, and the devices are spotless clean even after an intense frothing session.
Speaking of cleaning. You will have to wipe Bambino more frequently than Creatista. The reason is that Bambino doesn’t feature 2-tier cup support, and its espresso splashes around when I use a short cup. It’s slightly messier, but I don’t think it’s a major flaw. It’s a minor inconvenience that can be overcome with 10s of aftercare.
Nespresso Creatista vs Breville Bambino: Similarities
There are 2 major similarities that I want to comment on. Check them out below!
Water tank capacity
While Nespresso Creatista is equipped with a 50 oz water tank, Breville Bambino comes close with its 47 oz water reservoir. There is a slight difference here, but nothing too major. The tanks can last quite a while if you brew 3-5 cups of mixed beverages daily.
After testing how long the tanks last, I can conclude that the devices are most suitable to serve a group of 2-3 users daily without considering what kind of beverages they brew. If the volume brewed daily is moderated, the tank should last 2 days, pulling both standard espresso and frothing milk.
Compact footprint
Both devices are very compact and will fit any kitchen stand. If you have limited space, these models will be life savers.
