Are you looking for a compact Nespresso machine? Nespresso Inissia Breville vs Delonghi is the next debate you must check out. After testing their performance, I find them almost identical in all aspects, but there is one thing about the Delonghi Inissia that stands out and determines that it’s the winner.
Delonghi Nespresso Inissia can brew the same delicious espresso as the Breville line. What makes it a better pick is that the machine is much quieter when it operates. So I get to brew espresso without having the hear the loud rumbling sound.
On the contrary, Breville Inissia has a problem keeping the noise down. And there isn’t really a way to fix it permanently. But, I still suggest improving its mounting to dissimulate it. Other than that, both machines boast good flavor and temperature performance.

Nespresso Inissia Breville vs Delonghi: Differences
The only difference that I notice lies in the operational issue. And Delonghi wins against Breville Inissia with its silent operation. While I have been having a fairly pleasant experience with Delonghi Inissia, Breville has been making loud noises when it extracts espresso, even though there is nothing wrong with the drinks when they come out.
To address the issue, I suggest improving the mounting of the Breville Inissia. You can do it by adding a big rubber or silicon cup coaster. Or you can place it on anything that you believe doesn’t move around a lot or has a good grip. That will reduce the vibration and likely the noise as well.
Other than this, the color options are the only thing that differs the devices. Delonghi comes out with a black or white frame, while Breville spices things up with a vivid red body. You may consider choosing depending on your color preference. After all, I don’t think the noise problem is too severe anyway.
Nespresso Inissia Breville vs Delonghi: Similarities
Being products of the same line, just from different brands, there are more similarities between the pair than differences.
Espresso extraction
Brewing technologies
This pair employs a 19-bar pump pressure to extract espresso and does a phenomenal job. I have been able to get very delicious cups with a good layer of crema on top to add to the full-bodied texture of the drinks. Also, thanks to the Thermoblock heating system, I don’t have to wait long to start brewing. Normally it only takes under 1 minute for me to get good cups at hot temperatures.
Speaking of espresso temperature, I have seen some users complaining about the heat performance of the pair. But I have had them for a while and haven’t experienced a lousy temperature.
Capsule insertion
I recommend putting capsules in their slot with these machines. It’s best to adopt the technique of “dropping” the capsule, closing the lid, and letting the machine do the work. Avoid placing the capsule inside the slot and adjusting its position too much because that doesn’t work well either. Sometimes, the capsules get mashed, and the machine delivers weak espresso due to the placement.
So, I suggest you follow the input that I mention above!
Adjustable coffee volume
Even though each button for espresso and lungo already has preprogrammed volumes (0.84 and 1.35 oz), it’s possible to customize the volume to your liking if you want to. All you have to do is long press the button and stop when you find the volume sufficient. The devices will memorize the adjustment for future brews, and you can readjust it whenever you want.
Easy cleaning
By long pressing both the espresso and lungo buttons, I trigger the machine into cleaning or descaling mode. It will take about 20 minutes from A to Z, so it will not be very long and hectic. Just remember to long press the buttons again so the machines return to brewing mode, or you won’t be able to extract espresso.
