Are you wondering which model is better in the debate of Saeco Incanto vs Saeco Picobaristo? I have the answer prepared. After months of putting these devices’ functions and designs to the test, Saeco Picobaristo is the more worthwhile selection.
The Saeco Picobaristo has 11 one-touch drinks and a strong ceramic flat grinder that produces absolutely even coffee powder. And thanks to its visual aspect, the machine should be the focal point of any kitchen due to its sleek and contemporary appearance. Do you want an affordable machine with mid-range features? This is the one you need!
Saeco Incanto‘s 15-bar pump pressure and 5 adjustable espresso strength settings allow it to produce highly tasty and well-balanced espresso. This machine’s disadvantage is the lack of control over the water work. It leaks when I’m unaware of the problem, and it’s not easy to detect the source of the leak either.

Saeco Incanto vs Saeco Picobaristo: Differences
Saeco Picobaristo wins 2-0 and ties twice against Saeco Incanto. It boasts a more variable one-touch system and more grinder settings. However, operational-wise, these machines don’t distinguish much between themselves. Check out the more detailed review below for both machines’ pros and cons.
Espresso extraction
Tie
So far, I’m satisfied with these machines’ espresso extraction. Their 15-bar pump pressure has been performing well, reflected in the flavor notes and the coffee crema I get after each pull. So, if you want balanced and delicious espresso with thick crema, these devices are.
Also, being super-automatic machines, they offer users a hands-free brewing experience with beans-to-cup action. Of course, if users want to twist any brewing factor, it’s possible. But otherwise, it’s a swift and automatic experience. Therefore, if you don’t feel like preparing your coffee manually every morning, just hit the buttons and wait for Saeco Incanto and Saeco Picobaristo to work their magic. I know I have, and their milk-based options are incredible.
Temperature-wise, I’m impressed enough by their single boiler heating element. But Saeco Picobaristo comes with a Quick Heat boiler, which supposedly heats water faster than the standard boilers, like the one on Incanto. I have tested the theory, and it indeed takes about 20-30s less than the Incanto to prepare for extraction. But all together, I don’t notice any big shift in technology and performance regarding espresso temperature.
ONE-TOUCH BEVERAGES
Winner: Saeco Picobaristo
Saeco Picobaristo, with its 11 presets, allows users to enjoy a more diverse and comfortable daily brewing experience. As a former barista, homeowners should get espresso machines with more one-touch beverages if they want convenience. If users are specifically looking for a device they can play around with, a super-automatic with over 5 one-touches is always a good choice, especially if the list includes milk-based ones.
As for Saeco Incanto, I’m impressed by its 6 preset drinks, also. Of course, there are fewer options, but the list of recipes covers 80-85% of daily espresso and coffee drinking.
The drinks these devices can prepare at a touch of a button are:
- Saeco Incanto: espresso, espresso lungo, cappuccino, latte macchiato, and milk portion
- Saeco Picobaristo: espresso, espresso lungo, caffe crema, cappuccino, latte macchiato, ristretto, flat white, latte macchiato, cappuccino, baby cappuccino, and milk portion
Milk frother
Tie
With automatic milk carafes, the pair takes “automatic” to another level. I don’t have to adjust anything. When I press the “cappuccino” button, the devices will automatically brew espresso, froth milk, and dispense each ingredient in the right order of the original recipe. You must try the latte macchiato to understand the beauty of the program. The separation of layers is very impressive.
Regarding the programmability of the milk system, Saeco Incanto and Saeco Picobaristo allow milk length adjustment but not milk texture. Of course, I would like to have that control, but the microfoam’s consistency is good enough to convince me. And beginners will like its automatic texture decision.
Grinder
Winner: Saeco Picobaristo
With a ceramic grinder, Saeco Picobaristo and Incanto ensure that the authentic flavor of your roasts of choice never loses its touch. As a result, I have been able to enjoy very even ground without burnt flavor like metal grinders, which conduct heat very easily.
Saeco Picobaristo has 10 different grinder settings, 5 more than Saeco Incanto. Personally, I always prefer a grinder with a more flexible coarse level. It’s a great way to adjust the coffee strength and work the electric pump more efficiently.
Saeco Incanto vs Saeco Picobaristo: Similarities
Saeco Incanto and Saeco Picobaristo share many akin features. However, check some of the most important ones below!
Auto-rinse
These machines’ auto-purge feature keeps the system clean before and after each brewing session, guaranteeing no foul smell or residue that may grow mold or germs and harm users’ health. When using the milk system, the equipment will prompt you to rinse it immediately after it has finished foaming. You’ll only have a short window of opportunity to choose yes, so move swiftly.
Programmability
They share the same programmable features, including brewing temperature, aroma strength, coffee volume, and milk volume. I depend greatly on the 5 strength settings and 3 variable brewing temperatures. They greatly impact the espresso and coffee flavors, and I intend to make the most of them to fine-tune the taste to my liking. Of course, you will enjoy the same benefits too!
Water tank
If used sparingly, these machines’ 60–61 oz water tanks can last a maximum of 3 days. If not, daily refills are typical and shouldn’t be too stressful because taking the tanks out is not required. They are positioned on top of the gadgets and are up-pull if you wish to remove them. If you purchase one, ensure an adequate room above the machine.
